Notes

  • The big news in this boot  calendar is that we have a strong belief (we are about 95% sure of this) that Nike will be ditching the T90 Laser silo at the end of the season in favour for the Nike Hypervenom Phantom. The boot will be heavily marketed towards strikers to get to the ball first and put it in the back of the net. It is a massive call by Nike and will see Neymar take over as the headline athlete of the range. We are not sure what will happen to Rooney, but chances are that he will be forced into the Hypervenom Phantom.
  • Nike will also be releasing a new ‘Black Pack’ come the start of next season. With a boot in each silo that will use black as a predominant colour, Nike are putting more into this attempt at a ‘Black Pack’ compared to their attempt at one at the start of this season.
  • As we mentioned in our podcast a little while ago, adidas will be creating a 4th silo with the introduction of the adidas Nitro Charge 1.0. This is the boot we saw Sven Bender using a little while ago and it will be marketed as a ‘Power’ boot, while the redesigned LZ II will be marketed as a ‘Control’ boot. Both boot will have their own respective colour ways and the Nitro Charge 1.0 will not be called a Predator boot
