Arsenal took a vital 3 points at Newcastle last night to help secure that 4th place and a champions league entry for next season.

Arsenal are close to securing a 17th successive campaign in the Champions League after last night’s 3-0 win over Newcastle United, goals from Laurent Koscielny, Mesut Ozil and Olivier Giroud gave the Gunners a four-point advantage over Everton with two games left to play – and ended rivals Tottenham’s hopes of finishing in the top four in the process.

It was a miserable night for Magpies boss Alan Pardew, though. The travelling hordes called for his head after a sixth defeat in a row but he stuck a bullish note after the whistle – plenty more from that match to come.
